When is the best time to see cedar waxwings?

Cedar Waxwing

A group of waxwings will take over a berry-filled tree and gobble down all the fruit in a very short time. They prefer berry-producing trees and shrubs like mountain ash, firethorn, highbush cranberry and mulberry. Look for this beautiful bird when these fruits are in season. The distinctive markings are a head crest, black eye mask, red tips on its wings and yellow at the end of its tail. The male and female look alike. We recommend Kaytee Nut & Fruit Blend, Kaytee Nut & Raisin Blend, & Kaytee Fruit & Nut Treat Bell.
